Welcome to Mother Seton Regional High School

Mission Statement

Mother Seton Regional High School is a Catholic school that challenges, empowers and inspires young women to achieve excellence in academics, personal growth and service to others in a nurturing, richly diverse community.

In an effort to fulfill this mission, we aspire to instill Gospel values in our students as we encourage them to develop to their full potential.  With our Christian philosophy in mind, the faculty and staff encourage each student to become an interested, appreciative, contributing and responsible member of her community.

We are unique in our ability to build community in a multicultural setting and in our efforts to provide Christian leadership opportunities and academic challenges for our young women.  Focusing on Gospel values, we endeavor to prepare the student for contemporary Christian lifestyles which embrace family life, higher education, professional development, global awareness, productive employment and service to her community.

About Our School

Mother Seton Regional High School, founded in 1963, is a four-year girls’ Catholic regional high school of the Archdiocese of Newark. Our school is staffed by the Sisters of Charity of Convent Station, New Jersey and lay faculty members. The school is a community composed of students, their parents, the administration, the faculty and staff, the alumnae and their parents. Rich in its diversity, our community represents a multi-ethnic, religious and socio-economic community. The modern two-level building is located on a beautifully landscaped campus of 27 acres. The entire campus is wireless networked, and all students have access to use their 2-in-1 laptop/tablets in all of their classrooms.

A spacious Art Studio and Culinary and Clothing Laboratories provide pleasant areas for instruction in Fine and Related Arts for all students. A Chapel, catered Cafeteria and a large Gymnasium and Fitness Center complete the facilities. The grounds are equipped with three tennis courts, a softball field and soccer field.

Mother Seton Regional High School is accredited by the Middle States Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges.

The seal of Mother Seton Regional High School is a composite of four seals:

  1. That of the Most Reverend Thomas A. Boland, Archbishop of Newark: three fleur de lis and a crescent.  The motto below is also from the seal.
  2. That of the Archdiocese of Newark: three rivers, which was the Indian name of Newark.
  3. That of the Seton Family: the center of our seal in the shape of a Y. The three harbors pictured remind us that the Setons were the lords of three Scottish sea towns, hence the name “Seton.”
  4. That of the Sisters of Charity: the pelican, which represents their devotion to youth, and their motto above: God is Love.
