On Thursday, May 18th, fourteen students from MSR competed in the 34th annual state world language competition at William Paterson University. Over sixty schools and nearly 1,000 students from the state of New Jersey competed in the event. A special recognition goes to Freshman Maya Bidiak who placed fourth honorable mention in beginner Spanish receiving a medal from the University. Freshman Isabella Pappano placed second in beginner Italian. Junior Coralie Jean-François placed second in Native French; Junior Katherine Blum placed second in Advanced Latin; and Sophomore Victoria Silverman placed first in Advanced Latin. Each of these students received a trophy from the University.
The following students were selected by their MSR World Language teachers (Maria Vazquez, Maria Buontempo, and Karla Giron) to compete at various world language levels and each received a certificate of participation and merit issued by William Paterson University.
