Special Announcement

Mother Seton Regional High School Announces the Retirement of Miss Joan Barron. It is with a great deal of pride and praise that MSR announces the retirement of our Co-Principal, Joan Barron. After fifty-one years of dedicated service to our school and students, Joan has decided to begin the next chapter of her life beyond these halls of truth and knowledge. In 1968, a graduate of Georgian Court College, Miss Barron was hired to teach here and soon became a favorite teacher wearing many different hats with professionalism and charity. In addition to teaching English, Sociology, and US History, she also taught the electives Everyday Law and Psychology and was the woman behind the camera lens photographing every important moment. She earned a Master’s Degree in Education and Social Studies from Seton Hall University and became a Certified Principal and Supervisor. In 1980, Sister Regina named Joan an Assistant Principal and she went on to be a Co-Principal with Sister Jacquelyn after Sister Regina’s death. Over the years, Joan has enthusiastically moderated many extra-curricular activities as the Tennis Team Coach, our chapter of Glamour Gals, Student Ambassadors, Senior Class Advisor, Senior Prom, Baccalaureate Mass, Senior Awards, and Graduation. She was named Tennis Coach of the year several times and has been designated as an Ellis Island Teacher Ambassador. Miss Barron’s retirement will leave a hole in the heart of our school. However, her influence will continue to have all the students remembering and repeating that every time they leave the school they take their name, the name of their family, and the name of our school with them. They will also always take Miss Barron’s example as they and she begin a future that continues to be hers. It is with confidence that we send Joan off knowing that she will make a difference in this world as she has made a difference in the legacy of Mother Seton Regional High School.
