The 2020 Union County Teen Arts Festival will be held on Thursday, March 12th at Union County College in Cranford, NJ
The festival is an all day event and it is a wonderful opportunity to showcase your talent, be critiqued by professionals and be admired by your peers in the arts! On-going workshops in many disciplines make it a fun-filled learning experience as well. Students in all areas are encouraged to participate including visual artists, performers and writers. If selected, you could represent the school once again at the Union County Teen Arts Showcase in May and the NJ State Teen Arts Festival!

MSR try-outs for ALL performances will take place in JANUARY after school.
IMPORTANT! The pieces must be rehearsed prior to the try-outs. You must be prepared with sheet music, CD with background music/no lyrics (if singing ) or a student accompanist. Dancers need to be bring their own recording. Theater pieces need to be memorized.
If accepted, the registration form for the festival will be filled out after your try-out.
DRESS REHEARSAL FOR ALL PERFORMERS WILL BE IN MARCH. Date:TBA
Drawing, Painting, Mixed-Media, Collage, Prints, Photography, Digital Art, Sculpture and Film.
ALL ARTWORK created at home NEEDS TO BE SUBMITTED to Mrs.Otero for the selection process by the second week in February. Please stop by the Art Studio in January to get the HANDOUT and follow the NEW set of guidelines. Mrs.Otero will also choose pieces from students in elective courses and cycle classes during this time. Artwork done in outside classes is not eligible.
VERY IMPORTANT: NO WET OR UNFINISHED WORK WILL BE ACCEPTED
Please be ready to submit your pieces for consideration in FEBRUARY.Date:TBA
NOTE: IF YOUR ARTWORK IS CHOSEN FOR THE FESTIVAL YOUR ATTENDANCE IS REQUIRED.
All POETRY, SHORT STORIES OR ESSAYS need to be created and submitted through the English Department. Please see your teacher for instructions and an entry form. Maximum 3 pages long.
NOTE: STUDENTS CAN PARTICIPATE IN TWO DIFFERENT DISCIPLINES such as Sculpture and Piano, Solo Performance and Choral Music or Creative Writing and Art. ONLY ENTRY PER STUDENT IN EACH DISCIPLINE.
